WEDNESDAY's Features: Sparkle and 4 Elements

Hello Hello!  Today's entry is likely to be kind of short, it has been busy due to last day of classes and work :) But I didn't forget!  Today's Wednesday (I forgot what day it was, apparently!), which means I'm featuring the Daily Deal, which is Sparkle and one of my favourite games I have in my Game Manager, 4 Elements.

For those who aren't familiar, the Game Manager is a tool that you install on your computer, and it keeps all your Big Fish Games in one place, which is very convenient.  Each game file you download will open up in your game manager, and you'll be able to view and play them from there.

Big Fish Games also has a monthly Punch Card programme, but I'll get into that more tomorrow ;)  In the meantime, let's get talking about those games, shall we?

So!  I was kind of super excited to see that today's Daily Deal is Sparkle, a shiny marble popper (much like the classic Luxor games) where you journey through a treacherous forest.

Downloaded the PC trial to see if it's much different than the version I have on my Samsung Wave, and pleasantly enough, it's the same.  Mouse controls the marble shooter, and you match three marbles of the same colour to 'spark' them and then the chain disappears.  keep doing this until you get to the end :)

I really enjoy Sparkle, the graphics are wonderful and the game is really relaxing.  I never find myself getting stressed  when I play, even if I lose a round.  It's good for people with sensitive eyes, as the colours are vibrant but not too bright.  The initial tutorial is interactive, which means you can see what happens when you click and gives you a good idea of what to expect.

There's no overt plot involved, I find it's mostly going from level to level with increasing difficulty, which is fine if you're feeling a casual kind of day and just want to pop some marbles, but if you're looking for hours of play, there are other games like it that have a more engaging plot.  I did end up purchasing it after trying my 1-hour PC trial.

So, if you're interested, please check out Sparkle, it's $3.05 CAD today!

My current personal feature of the day is going to be 4 Elements, a game I am very fond of.  It's a match-3 style game, where you click and drag to form chains of little stones to clear a path to the end of the level.

The plot of the game is fairly simple; you need to restore the magic in the books of elements.  You start with the book of Earth, then move to Fire, Air and Water respectively.  Each book has four creatures in it, and each creature has 4 match-3 puzzle levels associated with them.  At the beginning of each book is a hidden object scene where you find pieces of the puzzle to help you solve it, and get the key to unlock the book and start adventuring.  After you complete all four levels per creature, the card for the creature turns into a spot-the-difference game, which is very enjoyable and not too difficult.  64 levels, 4 hidden object scenes and 16 spot-the-differences later and you restore the balance of magic to the world! :)

Definitely worth getting if you're a moderate-casual gamer, who enjoys story and interaction while being able to stop at any time to take a break.

And remember, if this is your first time buying as a Big Fish Game Club member, use the code NEW299, and you can get a super discount on your first game!

Have a super night!
