Today is Monday, which means I'm featuring Big Fish Games' Catch of the Week, and letting you know whether I think it's a good catch or not :D
I've begun to employ an arbitrary ratings system, which means that I'm starting to use hearts (♥) to designate from 1-5 the levels of goodness that a game has. Difficulty, for example, will have more hearts the more difficult it is. Engaging is something that measures (or tries to) how immersed in the game I get, basically how well it holds my attention.
I'll feature the Daily Deal afterwards, but first things first, let's check out the Catch of the Week!

In Flux Family Secrets:The Rabbit Hole you play Jesse, a woman who is trying to explore the secrets of a past she can't remember. In this lovely sequel (I admit, I have not played the first one yet), you discover that you are in fact transported back to the Flux mansion, but something's not right; you're 30 years in the past, interacting with yourself as a child! It's up to you to uncover the secrets to fix the time device and finally sort things out.
This is definitely another standard Hidden Object game, but the graphics are lovely, and the puzzles are delightfully challenging. Gameplay is simple, your hidden object scenes are unlocked, you find things to go into your inventory, and solve puzzles to make it through each area. The graphics could have been a bit more ornate, but I did like the childish cartoony-ness of it. The background music is very unobtrusive and fitting of the contexts in-game that I've explored so far. Definitely going back to buy this after I'm finished writing the blog entry. Remember, it's on discount all week!
Now for the ratings, which I've decided to use a 5-heart system to make it simple.

Now, for the Daily Deal, which already won my heart before I even downloaded the demo:
Planet Horse is a cute little game where you choose, customise and then enter your horse in competitions as you care for him/her. Moving through the different steps helps you unlock new stuff that you can buy in the shop, and winning medals and gaining achievements gets you coins that you can buy stuff with. The more you do, the more your horse levels up.
Graphics are BEAUTIFUL in this game! I'm an absolute sucker for horses, so it's no surprise that I fell in love with this game on first go-round. The gameplay is simple, 100% point and click, and the tutorial lets you know exactly what to do. All in all, a really good light casual game. Music was okay, but not really exceptional.

That's all for Monday! Sorry it was so late >.<
